i wear a lot of grey.

or do i wear a lot of gray?

which version do you use, grey or gray?  i usually use grey, because to me that looks prettier in my mind.  i just love gray/grey.  to me, it's the uncommitted neutral; the summer color and the fall color, the color that makes your eye specks pop and your teeth bright.  oh grey, may you forever replace khaki until the end of time.

that being said, grey/gray sometimes has a negative connotation, i think.  it could be considered a sloppy color, or a gym-class color, or a shade synonymous with sadness and ennui*.

grey and white is one of my favorite, cleanest, least-cluttered color combos.
it's perfect for;

parrots. [the african grey is one of my favorite birds/creatures of all time.  they are the smartest, sweetest birds, and so understated-pretty.  i used to be obsessed with birds, until i grew up (you may laugh).  i still secretly have and always will want one of these parrots.  and no surprise...they are grey!  with a splash of red...beauty overload, people.]

 

the outside of homes, like in nantucket. [my third or fourth favorite place i've ever been.  all the homes are that washed grey, with white trim and shutters.  plus duh, it's gorgeous there.]

the inside of homes, like in this random living room i wish was mine.  does that color combo not put you to ease?  talk about a place to just sit and soothe.

my wardrobe!  more specifically, my favorite sweater [ann taylor loft] which i think is actually a "pajama" sweater, whatever that means, which suits me perfectly.  its loosy-goosy, drapey, long, and cozy.  oh, and grey.  [obvs this picture is from springtime, which is why i'm wearing tights...wait, what are tights, again?  what is this "cold weather" of which you speak?  i scarce remember the days of yore.]

so imagine my joy when i discovered that heather grey nail color has been popping up all over the place, from runways to celebs to myself, sooner or later!  i already have a sort of gunmetal grey, which i really like. but something about this soothing, baby gray...i want.  do you think it will clash with, like, skin though?  tbd.  tbd.
