i heard navy was all the rage on the red carpet recently.
well, look at me, following right along here in my navy.
except my navy is less red-carpet glam and more of a he-she...
is that a boy or a girl?
is that outfit a dress or a sweater?
meaning, a real confusion-generator. confusion generators are in fact, some of my favorite kinds of clothes. being unsure of how to categorize a particular garment sort of guarantees the piece to be original, fresh, and a happy break from routine.
i am into rachel roy lately.
this curious navy-with-sparkly-silver-trim he/she is one of her's, much like the olive jumpsuit i showed you a few weeks ago.
rachel roy for life!
or something.
time for some book talk! [cue the reading rainbow theme song, thank you.]
i just finished willful creatures by aimee bender, its actually a collection of short stories. aimee bender was introduced to me by my pixie friend, and i devoured those stories. her ideas are creepy, human, and haunting. i repeat; creepy. i don't want you going and reading it out loud to your tiny children or something and then blaming their corruption on me.
my fave story from the collection is called "off".
it starts like this...
"At the party i make a goal and it is to kiss three men: one with black hair, one with red hair, the third blond. Not necessarily in that order. I'm alone at the party and I have my drink in a mug because by the time I got here, at the ideal moment of lateness, the host had used all her bluish glasses with fluted stems that she bought from the local home-supply store that all others within a ten-block radius had bought too because at some inexplicable point in time, everybody woke up with identical taste."
i strongly suggest you read the whole story.
there is another in the book about a lady that has potatoes for children.
...like i said, i have a tendency to like some peculiar things.
i warned you!
