feist

this color.
if i could, i would use it for everything.
as lipcolor.
as wall color.
as icing for baked yumz.
as dresses, shoes, scarves.
it would be the color we saw when we looked at each other.

it's pink!  it's red!  it's wildberry sorbet!  it's a heart-beat color.  a color with gumption.  this color is the feisty justice-oriented side of me that writes scalding emails in defense of my loved ones, with words flung like weapons*; they sting and stab at your confidence, like little poisonous needles.

its also the color that tempers my anger and tugs at my sympathy.  it holds me back from sending my word-weapon emails, calms the criticisms and softens my heart, so that i click "discard" and all is forgiven.

i don't know, i just like it.  these flowers grow like crazy in my mom's garden during the fall, and i love how they have added "hot pink" to the colors i associate with autumn.  although, if you'll agree, it's so much more than "hot pink."

*in a way...i'm picturing throwing stars.  except they are not shaped like stars.  they are words lasered into metal and strung together in sharp, shimmering phrases like "better off without you" and "stay away if you know whats good for you, i got to yellow belt with three green stripes when i took karate in fourth grade!"...ahem.

life/love/learning to navigate our daily lives is exhausting and painful, sometimes.
and simultaneously beautiful, too.

like my pretty flower.

best to stay on the safe side and refrain from hurting my sisters.
just saying.
i gots wrath.
